The Boy at the Front of the RoomShaking with insecurity, a young girl walked into her new 8th grade Language Arts class and walked straight to the large desk at the back of the room and handed her new teacher a copy of her schedule. Whispers were heard among students along with a few “Hey! New girl! Look over here!” “and “Hey what’s your name?”s.The Boy at the Front of the Room by RoseInTheTwilight
The teacher looked around the room for a moment and pointed to an empty seat against the wall on the far side of the room. The girl quickly walked to her seat with her head down. Her messy, brown hair falling in front of her freckled face and nearly causing her to trip. When she sat down, she decided to scan over the students. Who seemed approachable? Who is the troublemaker? Is there anyone with the same interests? How did each student dress?
Her eyes found the boy at the front of the room. Short hair a few shades darker than her own, with his head on his desk. Not asleep, just resting there.
